Keep a few thoughts to yourself

I built Manote for my own notes, with privacy in mind. You don't need an account to use it, and your notes are encrypted on your device with a local key that stays there. There's no tracking, no ads, no subscriptions and no paid upgrades.

I also love to write, so the news page is where I share updates to Manote and the occasional ramble about whatever else is on my mind.

For the things you want to keep

Write a quick list or a longer document. Add headings, checklists, images, tables and links when you need them.

Keep notes in notebooks, nest them if that helps, and find them with search. Note history and trash help you recover changes or deleted notes.

Export whenever you like as plain text, Markdown, HTML or PDF.

Your notes are encrypted on your device automatically. If you turn on sync, they're encrypted before they leave your device too. The server can't read them. The sync service and encrypted backups are hosted in Europe.

A bit about me

I'm a developer in Lithuania, and I've been building software for over 15 years. I still get a lot of satisfaction from figuring something out and making it work.

With Manote, there's usually a small detail I want to come back to. Maybe a button could be easier to reach, or a screen takes one tap too many. I enjoy working through those things and seeing the app get a little better over time.

If something feels awkward when you're using it, let me know. It's easy to get used to your own app and miss things that someone else notices straight away.

Give it a try

If you'd like, you can buy me a coffee. It'll help pay for the sync server hosting, and maybe an actual coffee too. I do love a good coffee. Thanks for using Manote!
